The Return to Sports program is an innovative and injury-specific training system for athletes recovering from an injury or surgery. It is coordinated and collaborative care between the HPT Sports Medicine staff, physical therapy and the referring physician. This program transitions an athlete from completion of physical therapy to fully returning to performance, thus, “bridging” the gap between physical therapy and full-go return to sports. The Return to Sports (Bridge) program integrates the philosophies of functional rehabilitation with those of sports training. The result is a program which develops dynamic stability, neuromuscular control and provides for a safe return to sport specific activities. The majority of HPT’s Return to Sport activities take place in our HIT Center area. We have approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of space which includes two astro-turf areas, a sand pit, various Cybex exercise equipment stations, agility ladders, plyometric box stations, dynamic balance tools and much more.
