When your body is hurting or you are hobbling around, a competent physical therapist can totally make a difference!
It’s only when you lose your mobility that you realize just how wonderful it was to have gotten around with ease. A quality physical therapy facility can make that return to function, flexibility and enjoying life entirely possible.
Huntington Physical Therapy has been serving the tri-state area for over thirty years! With experience and expertise we gladly help people rehab from surgery, degenerative pain, arthritis, injuries, accidents and even debilitating disease. Our history is only part of what makes HPT unique. At 66,000 square feet near the Marshall University campus, this is admittedly a large clinic; but it’s actually a very patient-friendly facility in which to be treated. Along with our highly qualified clinical staff consisting of 5 physical therapists and 5 physical therapy assistants, HPT also has an experienced administrative staff to help with any problem you have from scheduling to billing questions. So we’re big where it matters . . . our knowledge, our caring and our concern for the well -being of the tri-state community.
Sally sets the Tone:
Sally Oxley is the “cornerstone” of this practice, having established it in 1982. Since that time, she has molded HPT into the quality health-care facility it is today. Sally is a kind and gentle, but determined, leader. Her mission has always been to be profoundly helpful to the community. It’s simple – but it says a lot.
It was Sally who had the vision to construct a staff of many specialized therapists, focusing on one area of rehab after another, including hand and wrist, spine, shoulder, knee, foot/ankle and even neurological needs such as Parkinson’s and stroke.
Sally has always been driven to provide state-of-the-art programs and services for HPT’s patients. For example, hiring a therapist to perform video gait analysis at the practice has become very beneficial for our patients. She also led us in becoming experts in custom bracing and splinting. For more than 20 years, she has had physical therapists and athletic trainers who have cared for athletes at the high school, college (Marshall and others) and professional levels. This is now a world-class practice because of Sally’s vision and guidance.
