I just want to take this opportunity to say a thank you to HPT and a few of the individuals who have taken care of me over the past several years and enabled me to return to cycling. I have spent more time at HPT than I would have liked, but I want to express my sincere gratitude to you, Sally, Eric and Charletta for taking such good care of me. You were always very helpful and informative, explaining what you were doing and how it would benefit me. You always took my phone calls or returned them as soon as possible. You always found a way to work me in whenever I needed to schedule. The atmosphere was light yet very professional. I enjoyed the music selection and the good conversation. I always felt like I was coming in to see a friend and not just to be seen and pushed along to make way for the next patient.
If ever asked for a recommendation on where to go for physical therapy, HPT will always be the place I recommend! - Bill Hill |
Over a decade ago I decided to play a game of racquetball with a friend. Little did I know it would cause a life changing injury. Falling to the ground and clutching my knee I knew something had gone terribly wrong. After a doctor’s visit I learned I had torn my ACL, meniscus and other cartilage. Needless to say, my doctor wanted to perform a multitude of surgeries. I felt overwhelmed and confused. But then I went to my first appointment at HPT.
Huntington Physical Therapy and their professional staff made me feel welcomed and gave me confidence to face surgery head on with a winning attitude. We worked together on a strengthening routine before surgery and worked hard and diligent afterwards to get me back to 100%. I learned a great deal from the caring staff a HPT. From how to walk with crutches to all the different activities I could participate in to different exercises I could use at home to strengthen my knee on my own. Over ten years later I’ve had four knee surgeries and countless hours at Huntington Physical Therapy. Now I can bike and hike as much as I want thanks to the hard work and help of HPT. Over the years I’ve built life-long relationships with the individuals who have cared for me at HPT. From the one on one relationship I have with the Physical Therapist to the friendly front office staff my experience at HPT has been more than I ever expected. So going forward in life, I know when I fall, not only will I pick myself back up, but I’ll have the excellent staff at HPT and their caring support throughout my recovery process. Thanks HPT. - Nathan Myers, Pita Pit, Owner |
Thanks to HPT we now have a new-hire assessment that is specific to our needs. Members of the HPT staff came to our facility, evaluated our jobs and equipment and came up with an assessment that evaluates new hires based entirely on our needs at Rubberlite. All it takes is one call and my new employee is seen promptly and better yet, I usually have the results within a day of the exam. The location is convenient, the staff is friendly and helpful; I couldn’t be happier with HPT!

When I came to HPT Physical Therapy Specialists I could not walk without the assistance of a walker. I had 17 sessions of physical therapy and I’m now going to WalMart and Kroger without one! I carry a cane (for safety reasons) but walk without using it. My knee would buckle and give way often when I first started with HPT but, now, it no longer buckles or gives way. I feel the physical therapy I received at HPT was great. My therapist did a great job and my mobility is remarkable compared to what it was when I started. I am very pleased with HPT and would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of physical therapy.

Aleacha,
While a client of Kelly Akers at HPT (where you both provide care), it seems your keen eye noticed my symptoms of Parkinson’s disease before I had even been officially diagnosed. You were then ready when I explained my problem to Eric and he said I should speak with you. I recall being pretty frightened. You assured me that there was hope in the exercise program that you were trained to teach. You advised that while it may not cure PD, it would slow down the deterioration and keep the worst at bay. And so it has! You did more than just show me exercises. While patiently working with my awkwardness, you taught me about the LSVT BIG program, much about Parkinson’s disease itself and showed me absolutely inspiring videos of the successes others had experienced from this program. You allowed me to meet some of your successful clients also. You forthrightly answered every question I had. Advice from my medical doctor was consistently echoed by you, in that staying active is a must and that hard workouts are very beneficial. The BIG program worked well as an addition to the home exercise program I had previously started at HPT. I am a crusty 71, but that did not deter you as you calmly and cheerfully guided me to hope with the exercise program you teach so well. It has also proven true that I need to be faithful and consistent to the program, just as you said. It makes a difference. I recommend you as often as possible. Thank you for your gift, I hope and pray that you are able to offer it to many, many others. - W G Gannon |
It’s been one year since my daughter broke her tibia and fibula while playing travel softball. It hasn’t been easy to get to where she is now. I’d like to give thanks to some of the people that didn’t give up on her on this road to recovery. Thanks to the softball family that was there last year during this difficult time. Thanks to Mark Taylor and Kevin Burton from Huntington Physical Therapy. Your knowledge, guidance and belief in her were key in getting her back to softball this summer. She’s hit two home runs in travel ball, so far.

I came to HPT services to begin rehabilitation after Rotator Cuff surgery. I really enjoyed the time I spent in that facility trying to bring my shoulder back to full functionality.
The atmosphere was professional, yet it felt like being in a family environment. The therapy sessions were stressful in the beginning, but with the help of the staff, my shoulder became much stronger with each session. The sessions were well organized with the goal to establish full recovery of my shoulder. All the processes and exercises were well explained and demonstrated. The staff also kept a watchful eye to ensure that the exercises were performed correctly. HPT Services is a great place to do your rehabilitation. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I would recommend HPT Services without any reservation. - WC Wallace |
Team HPT,
Today ends our 8 months of post-op ACL rehab. We can’t thank you enough for all the great care and attention we have received. Andrew is ready to get back to playing sports and we have HPT to thank for that! You pushed when it was appropriate and did some “patting on the back” when it was needed… A SPECIAL thanks to Mark and Kevin! You guys are the best. We won’t miss the trips to Huntington BUT we’ll miss Team HPT! - Barry & Deanna Rice (for Andrew Rice) |
HPT,
Thank you so much for the “top notch” services you provided to Kent during his post-op shoulder rehab. Traveling to Huntington has definitely been worth it! We can’t say that we would be ready to see Kent on the field if he hadn’t been cared for by the best! Thanks Team HPT and a special thanks to John, Kevin and Eric… we’ll miss you! - Bill & Beth Phelps (for Kent Phelps) |
I want to thank all the staff at HPT for their care and understanding during my time there. I especially want to thank Denise Juan, PTA . I would not have had the positive outcome (in the end) without her guidance. She was there to encourage me to continue to progress through the entire Work Conditioning experience. Denise stood by me, supported me and educated me. She was my “cheerleader” (LOL) when I felt like giving up. Denise taught me how to get stronger, to become more flexible and instructed me in proper body mechanics. This will make returning to my job easier and safer. Thank You HPT and a special Thank You to Denise…
