Aquatic Therapy

|
Using the benefits of water - buoyancy, warmth and resistance - HPT's Aquatic Therapy Program helps you increase your strength and function and decrease your pain. Aquatic Therapy is appropriate for patients of all ages and with a variety of conditions, including arthritis, weight loss, joint replacement, and various athletic injuries.
Initially, you are evaluated by a Physical Therapist to determine your specific needs. From the information gathered during the evaluation, the Physical Therapist will then develop a program suited to your specific needs and problems. During your first visit to the pool, the Physical Therapist will teach you the program. As you improve, your program will be modified appropriately until you reach all your goals.
There may be medical reasons that might prevent you participating in our Aquatic Therapy Program. Your Physical Therapist will know if it is right for you.
HPT's Aquatic Maintenance Program is a service we offer to former patients to provide the benefits of water therapy on an as-needed, cash basis. The program is offered twice weekly in a warm-water pool. Since the Aquatic Maintenance Program is not billed to insurance, the fee for the program is $20.00 per month or $5.00 per visit. Former patients currently participating in HPT's land-based Fitness Program will incur an additional charge of $20.00 per month for Aquatic Maintenance participation.
